Tableau는 BI Tool중에선 가격경쟁력이 있는 편입니다. 1명 2명 단위의 작은규모로 구매도 가능하죠. Tableau의 제품은 크게 Desktop과 Server 제품군이 있습니다. Desktop은 각종 데이터 소스에 연결하고 분석을 수행하고 각종 리포트를 만들어내는 생산도구입니다. Tableau의 가장 기본이되는 제품이며 사용자의 PC에 설치되는 방식으로 구매는 1Copy씩 가능합니다. Server제품군은 공유 및 배포를 위한 제품이며 Desktop에서 생산된 컨텐츠를 소비하는 도구입니다. 각종 권한 관리나 사용자 통계, 데이터 스케쥴링, 구독 기능 등 협업에 필요한 기능이 포함되있죠. 라이센스 정책은 유저 1명당 과금 방식이며, 최초 구매시엔 최소 10유저이상 구매 가능합니다. 그 이후는 1유저씩 추가 가능합니다. 사실 최초에 10유저는 약간 당연할 수도 있는 이야기입니다. Server를 사용한다면 Server PC도 필요하고 Server를 관리할 사람도 있어야 하는데, 실제로 사용자는 3~4명 이라면 배보다 배꼽이 더 크죠. Tableau Online 이라는 제품은 Tableau에서 제공하는 Saas 서비스로, Server와 동일한 기능을 가지고 있으나 Tableau에서 관리하는 클라우드 버전이라고 생각하시면 될거같습니다. 일반적인 Saas 서비스와 동일하게 매년 과금되는 방식입니다.(년 500$) 모바일 같은 경우는 Server나 Online 제품을 사용하신다면 무료로 사용이 가능하십니다.Desktop만으로는 공유 및 배포 기능이 없기 때문에 서버가 필요하죠. Tableau Reader라는 제품도 있는데요. 리더는 우리가 흔히 아는 Adobe Reader와 비슷합니다.무료로 사용이 가능하며, Desktop에서 작성된 Tableau 파일을 읽기만 가능합니다. 마지막으로 Tableau Public이라는 제품이 있는데요. Tableau에서 커뮤니티 활성화 및 Case 수집을 위해 무료로 배포 하는 버전입니다. 엑셀, ms access, 텍스트 파일만 사용이 가능하며 파일 저장시자동으로 Tableau Public이라는 사이트에 리포트가 저장, 공유 됩니다. (PC에 저장이 안됩니다.)
