Four years after a virus destroys humanity, the child survivors have become vampire prey. Yuichiro wants to escape, but not without his best friend.
Four years after his escape, Yuichiro joins the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. To join the elite vampire hunting squad, he has to make a friend.
Yuichiro spars with Shinoa, who defeats him easily using her Cursed Gear. To save Yuji and contract with a demon, he enters the forbidden chamber.
Though Mikaela is a vampire now, he's not quite like the others. Yuichiro and Yoichi enter a new classroom to train for the Cursed Gear aptitude test.
Krul assembles her vampires and declares war on the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. After a spellcraft exam, Guren arrives to test the class.
During the Contract Ceremony, Yuichiro, Yoichi and Shiho each confront their respective demons to either obtain their own Cursed Gears, or die trying.
Mitsuba Sangu joins the trio and Shinoa as the fifth member of Shinoa Squad, and Guren dispatches them to Harajuku on their first mission together.
The child that Yuichiro rescued tells them the vampires are based in Omotesando Station, and the squad moves to attack them immediately.
Vampires are attacking Shinjuku, and the squad arrives to help with defense. Shinoa gives the trio stimulant pills to enhance their power.
Yuichiro and Shinoa split off from the squad to help Nagai. While Ferid allows Mikaela to fight Guren, the rest of the Shinoa Squad are attacked.
Yuichiro recognizes Mikaela and hesitates. Ferid lures Yuichiro and Guren away so Mikaela can talk to Yuichiro while vampires attack the squad.
With Yuichiro still in a coma after five days, Shinoa confronts Guren about the stimulant pills. Meanwhile, Mikaela curses humans and vampires alike.

Shinoa spars with Guren, asking him about her sister Mahiru. Mitsuba receives a promotion, but Yuichiro's loyalties are questioned.
Under Shinoa's direction, Yuichiro and the squad attempts to break free of their Cursed Gear illusions to manifest the demon directly.
Shinoa Squad meets over breakfast to discuss Guren and what happened to Yuichiro. Kureto tells Guren his plan to wipe out the vampire nobles.
Shinoa Squad assembles at Ebina along with the rest of the army. As punishment for their lateness, they have to fight Guren and two others.
In Nagoya, Shinoa Squad joins Narumi Squad on the mission to take down vampire noble Lucal Wesker, with Shinya and Yoichi acting as snipers.
The vampires suspect there's an informer in their ranks. The squads regroup, and Guren leads a rescue mission to save people taken hostage.
With the vampires holed up in the city hall, Guren and the squads strategize: Guren Squad will distract them and the others will rescue the hostages.
Chess and Horn defend Crowley when Shinoa Squad attacks in an attempt to save Guren. Shinya orders them to retreat, but Yuichiro isn't happy.
After talking with Asuramaru, Yuichiro faces Crowley again, trying to save Guren. But as the Moon Company retreats with him, Mika appears.
As Moon Company desperately retreats, an injured Mika tries to revive Yu and talk to him, but Yu refuses to listen unless Mika drinks his blood.
At the airport, the survivors of Moon Company decide to stage a mutiny and rescue Guren, who's revealed to be a half-demon. Then Kureto arrives.
Guren and Mika duel before Shiho's sister Mirai manifests as an angel, the Seraph of the End. Kureto uses her to summon the demon Abbaddon.
