Experienced players looking for surgical control and outstanding feel should love this update

Endorsed by Novak Djokovic, the Head Speed Pro has earned its reputation as one of the game’s most versatile player’s racquets. As with previous generations, this 2022 update combines the precision of an 18x20 string pattern with a near perfect balance of speed and stability. The upshot is a racquet that not only plows through ball effectively but also moves fast when the pressure is on. In addition to delivering the connected feel that advanced players crave, the Speed Pro packs more than enough spin-potential to bring the ball down effectively. Technologies include a uniquely flexible Auxetic construction in the yoke, which is designed to calibrate ball feedback to stroke speed and impact location. As with the previous generation, this update has Graphene 360+, giving it polarized weighting for easier power along with SpiralFibers for better ball feedback. Ultimately, the Speed Pro 2022 is one of the most impressive updates we've seen in a while. Experienced players looking for extremely precise targeting and exceptional feel should love this one.

From a racquetholic's perspective...Aside from perhaps beefing up a little swingweight (SW), I really have no complaints with this racquet. This is like the epitome of a modern player's frame. It is a flexible, comfortable racquet at ~62 RA. I always played with 18x20 string beds and honey moon period aside, I bought 6 matched racquets from TW because: 1. It is very comfortable yet stable enough against heavy balls. I've been playing against ex-college D1/D2 players and I never felt I lacked stability. Personal pref, I like adding few grams at 3/9. MRT team at TW helped me match my racquets at 325 SW and achieved it via tiny bits of tungsten at 10/2. Static weight roughly 11.6 - 11.7 oz with dampener and 1 overgrip. I will follow their approach as I experiment. 2. It is 100 sq inch yet plays like a 98 inch. I have not felt a change from playing with 97s and 98 s most of my life. This is truly a testament to the control you get (technique willing, that is up to you--it's not the racquet). 3. For me, this beats out 18x20s I've played with in the past old/newer Prestiges, Wilson Blades, and Yonex 97s. Why? Because I can still generate good kick and top spin on my strokes. This is very versatile 18x20 for this reason alone. Approach shots that require a low to high racquet acceleration is very easy with this racquet (see its balance). 4. Hitting the sweet spot with this racquet is very rewarding. It's addicting. The feedback is great. Poly strings tested with my set up and in order of preference (ignoring durability/tension maintenance): Solinco Confidential 17 @ 46 Solinco Hyper G 17 @ 48 Diadem Solstice Power 17 @ 48 Grapplesnake Tour Sniper @ 48

The new 2022 Speed ProI have never written a review of anything in my entire life, but I must say that this tennis racquet is by far the finest most balanced I've ever held in my 50 plus years of playing tennis! I used to dream about a racquet so precise and accurate when I was a young man. I plan to add a second one to my bag as I don't want to play with any of my other racquets again. Leave it to Head to keep coming up with winners!

AmazingDon't let the pro moniker and the (slightly) heavy weight of this racquet fool you into thinking that it's only for advanced players. While advanced players will surely benefit the most from this stick, I think a wide range of players from different levels and playing styles will also enjoy this racquet. It's stable and plush yet provides good feel. The stability of this racquet will reward both spinners and flat hitters alike. I transitioned to this racquet from the Pure Drive and the Speed Pro helps to rein in my shots and prevent them from hitting the back fence. Even my first serve percentage has increased. Highly recommended!

The BestFirst of all, I need to apologize to the Tennis Warehouse play testers that regarded the new Head Speed Pro 2022 as one of the best ever and even Chris changing to it as his new racquet of choice. I have been an advocate for Babolat my last 15 years of tennis and in particular the Aero Pro Drive line and its successors Pure Aero. Even an expensive (no insurance) elbow arthroscopy would not part me away from Rafa's racquets. Before the pandemic hit us I tried to convince my brother to restart playing tennis and bought a few Babolats for him but they would hurt him even with pure gut strings. His flat old school tennis was a no no with the racquets I bought. Once we went into lock down, tennis for my brother became the perfect escape. I bought a Head Speed Pro Graphene 360 strung with hybrid polys and synthetic gut and he became a solid 4.0+ player. I could never beat him again. And bought the same Speed Pros for me. Beautiful control racquets but gave me pain in my elbow and muscles around it. Tried every single combination of strings I could think of but the worst part was that I could play only a great first set and pretty much couldn't hit for the rest of the match. Then bought the Speed Pro 2022 Auxetic and hated it. Very headlight, impossible to hit a ball off the bounce, terrible serves and impossible volleys. When ordering the new Speed Pros I requested the matching specs service to match my current racquets. Static weight of 307gr, swing weight 290 and 9 points headlight balance. The new ones came at 307gr static weight, swing weight 292 and 8.5 points headlight balance. My old racquets had 330 swing weight with 18gr strings and a 2gr dampener. The new ones came at 322 with 18gr strings and 2gr dampener and a 6gr overgrip. I went crazy. I thought somebody from Tennis Warehouse had to warn us about the balance point and the change in specs. In their review I saw a tested 326 swing weight but I thought ok, maybe a light weight batch of racquets. I was so upset that I was going to return the racquets. But I said to myself the old Speed Pros are hurting you and you are not going back to Babolat. Took off the overgrip from the racquets, played with lead a little bid and ended up with 0.5gr at 11, 0.5gr at 12 and 0.5gr at 1. All I have to say now is that the Head Speed Pro 2022 is the best racquet I ever played with. Tennis Warehouse please accept my apology.

Excellent in every wayPrecise control and power are always appreciated when you use this racquet. You can hit with super top spin, flat and slice anywhere you aim. Kind of an unfair advantage. At first it seemed light. After two sets of singles and doubles against former national champions winning 6/4,6/0 I am convinced this is an amazing racquet.

Good all around racquetI use a Gravity Pro normally with gut/poly. I was looking for something slightly more maneuverable, and I think this does that. It is in between the Gravity Pro & Gravity Tour/Speed MP. Noticeably strong on returns & defensive shots. I prefer the feel of the Gravity line, but this 18x20 Speed Pro is very comfortable and stable. Would demo this with frames like the Gravity Pro, Gravity Tour. I can transition between these frames without any adjustment, though when I first starting using it I did notice the sweetspot is slightly lower than the Gravity.

Excellent racquetI have been using the Head Graphene 360+ Speed Pro with natural gut. Love the racquet. Developed both wrist and elbow pain and decided to look for a lighter replacement. Big mistake. But in the course of looking, I tried out the Head Speed Pro 2022, a touch lighter than my 360+. Wonderful racquet. Love the balance. Purchased a couple with multifilament strung at different tensions. Am breaking into them as we speak. May upgrade to gut later. I play with a Continental/Eastern grip and love the control of the 18x20 string pattern. The racquet is extremely responsive at the net and half volleys as well as ground strokes. Due to my tennis elbow/wrist issues which are mending nicely, I have not been able to serve yet but I fully expect the racquet to perform well there too. Highly recommend the Head Speed Pro for anyone interested in ball control and placement without sacrificing power.

Doesn't disappointI was using Head Gravity Tour/Pro for long time but decided to look for something faster and easier to use. Lately I tried switching to the Wilson Blade V8 16x19. Blade wasnt bad, but lacked plow mainly. Decided to give a try the new Speed Pro as I read good comments about it. And oh boy. This racquet doesn't disappoint. It has good maneuverability, feel is very nice -- feels close to theGravity Pro. I was amazed how comfortable this racquet felt for me. It felt more comfortable than my Gravity's. Volleys are easy with this racquet. Great stability and touch. It has a lot of power, but control still good. This racquet only can disappoint if you're used to very low powered frames, otherwise its fantastic frame!

Head Speed ProAfter trying several new racquets from Wilson and Head, the 2022 Head Speed Pro stood out to me. My groundstrokes were solid from both sides. I noticed a great feel as I hit volleys. I routinely hit solid, deep volleys from both sides. Most importantly to me, I have improved confidence with my serve. I can hit with more pace, or slide in a kicker as desired. Overall, I'm enjoying this racquet and looking forward to many more hours on the court with it. I'd definitely recommend it for intermediate to advanced players looking for a great all court weapon.

Dream RacquetI have been searching for a replacement for my 2012 Pure Drive Roddick for several years now. Wear and tear over the last decade has left me with only one of my original four racquets, and I was beginning to think I would never find a new frame without having to make some serious compromises. Enter the Speed Pro 2022! This racquet has fantastic control and feel, and impressive spin access despite the 18x20 string pattern. If you have good timing, and a consistently full swing motion, this racquet offers excellent power and depth in to the court. The swing weight is nearly identical to my Pure Drive Roddick and its modern equivalent, the Pure Drive Tour, making the switch completely effortless. I was also impressed with the frame's stability through contact despite having a thinner beam and being half an ounce lighter than the Pure Drive Roddick. I would still say the Babolat defended a little better due to it's 16x19 string pattern and effortless power, but the Speed Pro is not far behind, and it's improved control and feel make this difference feel inconsequential. At the net, the touch feels great, and the frame feels stable enough to block back heavy shots without issue. On serve, I was truly shocked with the amount of spin I was getting, and the targeting was a drastic improvement. However, the Pure Drive Roddick is truly a cannon on the flat serve and still reigns supreme. The Speed Pro doesn't have quite the same level pop, but I definitely wouldn't call it a slouch in this department. I would recommend this racquet to any player that has consistent full strokes, and prefers a heftier frame. If you find yourself defending the ball at the baseline or taking shorter, more compact swings at the ball, then I don't think this racquet will do you any favors. Late contact and off center balls will punish you, but I definitely think this racquet is more forgiving than most 18x20 frames on the market.

Great all around frameDemo'd this frame last week and I have to say it's as good as the reviews say. I'm a 4.5 mostly flat hitting player and this racquet worked for all my shots. Very good blend of stability and maneuverability, although on serves it was a bit heavier than I'm used to swinging. Will definitely be purchasing a bunch.

Great StickLove this racquet! I consider myself an "old school" player. I started playing in the mid 90s, so I'm very used to lower stiffness racquets with more control. This stick gives that feeling and associates with a very forgiving 100 square inch frame. Reminder that this is not an easy to swing racquet, you have to prepare your strokes early.

beautiful racketI recently received my new Head Speed Pro 2022. I have been out of the game for a while, but trying to get back into it. My previous racquet was the Head Graphene XT Speed Pro, also 18x20 (2015 model). I loved the feel of the XT, and the new model completely wipes the floor. I found it was best strung with Luxilon ALU Power at around 50-52 lbs. There is a ton of power even though this is an 18x20. it truly felt like a dream when strung with Luxilon ALU Power. I have tried Hyper G and a few other strings on this racquet, but Luxilon never fails!

HEAD Speed Pro ReviewWhat a racquet! I have been playing with the HEAD Boom Pro for about a month and a half. I've been a huge fan of Djokovic, and I figured I'd give this racquet a try. For my first ever Speed racquet I was blown away by its performance. Unlike the Boom Pro, I found it easier to pinpoint where I wanted to place each ball. I use the Speed Pro now for matches and the Boom for practice. The Speed Pro just blends power, precision, and control all in one. I thought the Boom Pro was fun to play with, but this racquet (paired with Lynx Tour) was just an unbelievable playing experience. I also like what Head did cosmetically, the little bits of copper make this racquet look sleek compared to other racquet brands. But yeah this racquet was just a great experience, I was effortlessly getting nice stokes and just about every stroke sounded like how the pros hit. The bigger sweet spot of this racquet made a difference. I occasionally got that nice pop sound in the Boom Pro however, with the Speed Pro it was almost guaranteed on every stroke. I didn't think there would be such a difference from a 98 sq. in. head in the Boom Pro to a 100 sq. in. bed in the Speed, but that 2 sq. in. made a difference I suppose.

Speedy by name Speedy by natureMade me realize I had been lugging around a plank with the Pure Strike 16/19. More than enough access to spin. Super comfortable. You can really go for your shots with the Pro as you have so much time to adjust to the ball. It makes the same sound as a Prince with O ports, just a whoosh and it really helps you use a full stroke. You get the choice of hitting through the court or using pinpoint accuracy to win points. Top class spin for an 18/20, super comfortable. I love the way it feels, and it allows me to build up to a really fast stroke speed I can maintain for a whole match. That is on top of it having no negatives. Your return game will thank you for buying this frame, and if you have ever wanted to rip returns past the net player off a serve, you are going to love this frame. You can go for super early returns or change your mind at the last moment. One of the very few frames that has no vices. If you think it is underpowered you simply don't have the strokes to use this frame. You can and will develop a full swing with this frame which you will struggle to do with many frames that lack control and are hard to get moving smoothly. Strung with Head Lynx Tour at 52 lbs
